Empathy Is Not Knowledge

Tell someone empathy will make them more money.

Most still won't be empathetic.

Because empathy isn't knowledge. It's a perceptual ability.

You can read 100 books on communication. If you can't sense what's underneath someone's surface, those books are empty.

The reason it's rare: the only way to develop it is to have been genuinely hurt. Real vulnerability, shame, powerlessness. That calibrates you to recognize the same in others.

A lot of high-performing people run on closed feelings. Asking them to suddenly open that switch has a real cost.

The learning path itself is expensive.

That's why you can't teach it. You can only find the people who already paid.
